Modeled Moment: Sink or Float

Turn your kitchen into a science lab. Gather up some items like a metal spoon, plastic spoon, block, small toy, and a plastic cup or bowl. Fill up the sink with a few inches of water. Ask your child to predict whether each item will sink or float and then test out the prediction. Items that float are called "buoyant!"
